Our First Time Together: The Black Trans Legal Professional Network at BTAC
From April 25th – April 30th 2023, Black Trans Legal Professionals Network (BTLPN) members met for the first time at the 10th annual Black Trans Advocacy Conference. As part of the conference, members were able to attend and participate in many things including a talent show, pageant, award gala, ball, workshops, empowerment sessions and more. For some, it was their first time being in space with other Black trans folks – the conference was attended by over 500+ Black trans individuals and their allies.

Spring Reflections from LRP's Director of Housing Services
On April 24, 2023, King County announced that Lavender Rights Project and Chief Seattle Club were awarded as joint operators of a 35-unit property in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. And after a busy day of cameras, interviews, quotes and emails upon emails, a majority of our staff packed up to get on a plane to Dallas, Texas for the Black Trans Advocacy Conference.

This annual conference, now in its 10th year, brings together Black Trans leaders from all over the nation who are advocates, activists, lawyers, attorneys, public health educators, youth and elders to share knowledge through workshops, networking, and connection.

BREAKING: Lavender Rights Project and Chief Seattle Club opening permanent housing for QT2BIPOC in Fall 2023
Lavender Rights Project (LRP) and Chief Seattle Club announced Monday, April 24, 2023, that they have been selected as joint operators of King County Health Through Housing’s newest program: a 35-unit building providing permanent supportive housing for QT2BIPOC (queer, trans, Two-Spirit, Black, indigenous, and people of color) in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.
