Happy Black History Month from LRP's Development Team!

Happy Black History Month from your favorite Development Team at LRP! We hope 2023 has been treating you all well and just wanted to give you some updates on what we’ve got planned for February and beyond.

February 23th 6pm-7:30pm (Virtual)
Black History Month Game Night

This year, we are celebrating our Black Queerstory with a night of trivia about what makes us a special, innovative, artistic, and resilient community. Questions will be around Black trans history, Black history, and LRP her-story! The best part of the game night experience is learning how closely aligned LRP and the PNW are with the current civil rights movement. Let’s remember the shoulders we stand on as we move the needle of justice forward. We are so excited to get together with y’all in a virtual setting and be in community with you. Just tune in with your favorite meal and beverage in hand, and meet LRP staff, too!

For folx that invite a new friend, we will have something extra for you and your guest! Just RSVP using the link down below to get registered.

WHEN: Thursday, February 23
TIME: 6:00pm - 7:30pm
WHERE: Wherever you have internet, you can join!

To join in the fun, visit bit.ly/blackqueerstory23 to RSVP. And if you can't attend, please consider making a Black History Month donation to Black Trans Liberation at lavenderrightsproject.org/donate --- which is happening right now!

Coming in June….

We also wanted to announce that we are coming back with The Black Trans Comedy Showcase for PRIDE 2023! Mark your calendar because we are making this fundraiser even BIGGER than last year. Be on the lookout for our line-up and when tickets are available!

We hope that you all are well and continuously year-round confronting racism, anti-blackness, misogynoir, transmisogynoir, ableism, xenophobia, and fatphobia. This work goes beyond February! If you want to be involved and have been wanting to support LRP through a donation or sharing resources please contact development@lavenderrightsproject.org.
