This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your contact data when you participate in our SMS program.

When you opt-in to our SMS program, we collect the following information:
Phone number: Provided when signing up for our SMS communications.
Message data: Including timestamps, message content, and responses.
Device and carrier information: Collected automatically to facilitate message delivery and troubleshooting.

Send updates, alerts, and advocacy opportunities related to our mission of supporting BIPOC and gender-diverse communities.
Provide culturally responsive support, respond to inquiries, and improve user engagement.
Analyze trends and SMS program effectiveness for internal evaluation, ensuring equitable access and impact.
Comply with legal requirements and protect against unauthorized access or misuse.
3. Data Sharing and Protection
We do not sell, rent, or trade your contact information. We may share your information with:
Service providers: Third-party SMS platforms that help us send messages securely.
Legal authorities: If required by law, subpoena, or court order, with transparency and advocacy for our communities.
Affiliated partners: Only with your explicit consent, for coordinated campaigns and events focused on the liberation and empowerment of BIPOC and gender-diverse individuals.
We take reasonable security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, including encryption and secure storage. However, no method of transmission is 100% secure.

You have the right to:
Opt-out of our SMS program at any time by replying STOP to any message.
Request for access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by responding to us with your request at your earliest convenience.

Lavender Rights Project SMS Program

By opting into Lavender Rights Project’s SMS program, you agree to these Terms and Conditions ("Terms").
1. Program Description
Lavender Rights Project provides SMS notifications, updates, and alerts related to our advocacy, events, and community resources, with a focus on Black and Indigenous gender-diverse liberation. Participation is voluntary and free, but standard message and data rates may apply.
2. User Consent & Opt-In
By providing your phone number and opting in, you consent to receive SMS messages from us. You confirm that:
You are at least 18 years old or have obtained guardian consent.
You are the authorized user of the provided phone number.
You understand that though message frequency may vary. You may receive messages weekly and/or messages may also be sent as needed based on events and updates
3. Opt-Out and Support
To unsubscribe, reply STOP at any time. You will no longer receive messages from us.
For assistance, reply HELP and you will be prompted on steps for assistance.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree not to use our SMS program for unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent purposes.
You understand that we are not responsible for message delays or failures due to carrier issues.
5. Privacy & Data Use
Your phone number and message data will be used in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not share your personal information without consent, except as required by law.
6. Service Modifications & Termination
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue our SMS program at any time without prior notice. Continued participation after changes means acceptance of the new Terms.
7. Limitation of Liability
Lavender Rights Project is not liable for any damages resulting from message delivery failures, unauthorized access, or use of the SMS program.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Washington State. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable legal processes, with an understanding of the systemic barriers impacting BIPOC and gender-diverse individuals.
