Lavender Rights Project ("LRP," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy and dignity of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and gender-diverse individuals. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your contact data when you participate in our SMS program.

1. Information We Collect

When you opt-in to our SMS program, we collect the following information:

  • Phone number: Provided when signing up for our SMS communications.

  • Message data: Including timestamps, message content, and responses.

  • Device and carrier information: Collected to ensure secure message delivery and troubleshoot issues. 

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used strictly to: 

  • Share advocacy opportunities, culturally responsive support, and community resources.

  • Respond to inquiries from existing and new clients.

  • Analyze program effectiveness and ensure equitable access to servies

  • Meet legal obligations and protect against unauthorized system access or data misuse.

3. Data Sharing and Protection

We are committed to the highest standards of data privacy and security:

  • We do not share your information with any external organizations under any circumstance, even with explicit consent.

  • Customer Data is not sold, rented, traded, or shared for marketing, promotional, or partnership purposes.

  • Mobile opt-in data and consent are never disclosed or transferred.

  • Data access is limited only to internal personnel and authorized service providers who are contractually obligated to uphold strict confidentiality and security. Standards.

  • If legally compelled to disclose information, we will notify affected individuals where permissible and advocate for community safety.

We apply industry-standard safeguards such as encryption, access controls, and secure infrastructure. However. No system can guarantee 100% security.

You have the right to:

  • Opt-in: Voluntarily join via phone or in person.

  • Opt-out: Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe.

  • Help: Reply HELP to receive support instructions.

  • Data Access: You may request access to, correction, or deletion of your data by contacting us.

We may update this Privacy Policy. Significant changes will be communicated via SMS or other appropriate channels.

By enrolling in Lavender Rights Project’s SMS program, you agree to the following terms:

1. Program Description

Our SMS program provides messages that may include:

  • Advocacy opportunities

  • Culturally responsive support

  • Responses to inquiries from existing and new clients

  • Event alerts and program updates supporting BIPOC and gender-diverse communities

2. User Consent & Opt-In

By opting in:

  • You confirm you are 18+ or have guardian consent.

  • You authorize messages from 206-639-7955

  • Message frequency varies based on engagement and event needs, up to 4 messages per month.

  • Consent to receive messages is not a condition for accessing services

  • Standard message and data rates may apply. 

3. Opt-Out and Support

  • To unsubscribe, reply “STOP” to any message

  • To request help,, reply “HELP

4. User Responsibilities

  • You agree not to misuse the SMS program.

  • LRP is not liable for delays or failures caused by mobile carriers.

5. Privacy & Data Use

6. Service Modifications & Termination

LRP may revise or end the SMS program at any time. Continued participation after updates constitutes agreement to revised terms..

7. Limitation of Liability

We are not responsible for damages due to messages delivery failures or unauthorized access, but will work to address and remediate any issues.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Washington State. Disputes will be resolved in accordance with applicable legal processes, that consider the systemic barriers impacting BIPOC and gender-diverse individuals.
