Introducing Natasha Lane

Dear Friends,

Full disclosure. I never thought I’d be a west coast lady but life is full of surprises.

My name is Natasha Lane and, I can officially say, I’m the Director of Development for the Lavender Rights Project. I’m a born and raised Baltimorian who got her start in the nonprofit sector while in college. The ten-hour weeks I spent at PRIDE cultivated my interest in service and would propel me into my first field assignment as an AmeriCorps Community Fellow. Those were the first steps that placed me where I am today.

In these trying times, we’re all looking for answers on what to do next, what to do to make the world better. As someone who’s lived in DC for two years, I can tell you the last six months here have been distinctly different. It feels like a level of humanity has been lost and this feeling bares down on us like a perpetual weight.

But when a burden grows, we go because we’re many, not few. The passion and drive I’ve experienced within my first month at the Lavender Rights Project solidify this knowledge. As a team we’ve started planning for the future, preparing our first ever end-of year campaign, detailing how we want to expand our organization’s mission, how we want to end a challenging but successful year, and how best to build the resources to accomplish these tasks.

All the while, we remain thankful for our donors and supporters. Without you all, we wouldn’t be able to plan our next steps into a new year.

Thank you for your generosity and support. I look forward to serving as your Director of Development.

All the best,
